Merry Christmas!!!

Every year Suisun Valley celebrates their anniversary after Christmas and before New Year. This is the first time to attend this event. It was like a chain of winery in the valley that  you will go to and try their wines.

We paid $5 to participate in the event and they gave us wine glass with logo on it, that we can bring home after. There were 7-10 wineries participated in the event but we only went to 5, because I end up drunk after tasting all their delicious wines from white to red and champagne.

My favorite winery is the Ledgewood Creek. They have the best wine and their staff is so friendly. We always buy cases of wines every time we go there.

Love drinking wine with my baba.

Chocolate Almond Brittle

My Chocolate-Almond Brittle!!!
I was in Berkeley, California when I had my first bite with this tempting, delicious Chocolate-Almond Brittle. It's so expensive to buy so I decided to make my own. Although it was not as delicious like the one I bought from the store but that's what cooking all about...PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!

A closer look of my first attempt Chocolate-Almond Brittle!!!

My Baba's Birthday

December 17, 2010 was my baba's 6x9+6 birthday. It was special and very memorable. He asked me to make Chocolate Roulade by Julia Child and Jacque Pepin. Kinda challenging but I made it because I want him to be happy on his birthday and since I don't have cash to spend for his gift. It's so delicious and very different from the rolls I made before because this one doesn't have FLOUR at all. Just egg yolks, chocolate and whipped cream.
This one is his birthday cake. Vanilla moist cake covered with whipped cream and also inside. It's so freakin' fatty but it's his birthday so what?!

Oh well, holidays' coming. I bet everyone will gain weight from all the parties everywhere.

Vacation

It's quite a year we had in 2010, lot's of unpredictable and trials we had to face but I'm very happy to say that we made it and we're going strong. How I wish we can go to UK to have a very nice vacation. UK is one of the places I would really love to see. A short break in a very nice lodge or cottage would be great. UK would be a perfect place to relax, unwind, forget all the pressure in life and to have some fun. Someday I will be there. I don't know when but I'm sure I will go there and explore the beauty of United Kingdom.

United Kingdom is one of the most visited places where most tourist go. It's brilliant history, vibrant and breath-taking beauty capture the heart of people who loves to travel and relax. You don't want to missed the mystery of Stonehenge, The Roman Baths at Bath City, The Breathtaking jewel of North "York Minster", The Portmeirion, The Stratford-upon-Avon, The Warwick Castle, The Tower of London, The Hampton Court Palace, The Edinburgh Castle, and the famous London Eye.

There's more to see with UK. History and famous places is not enough. You will also love there culture, food and the people itself. When you go to UK don't forget to explore everything. Happy Vacation everyone.

Christmas is in the Air

A Star, signifies the shinning star on where Jesus was born. Guide everyone to see him and rejoice for the born of our Saviour and Lord.

In the Philippines, we have a tradition called 9mornings. Which people or Christians go to church and attend mass and receive the Holy Eucharist for 9 consecutive days until December 24.

Since I was a kid, I believed that every time you complete the 9 mornings, your wish will be granted. I hardly complete those since the mass always started at dawn like 4 or 5am. It was fun especially if you go with your friends and family. You will feel the spirit of Christmas. People may say that Jesus is not real (atheists), but in my heart I know I have God and I know He is my Saviour. This year I may missed again the 9mornings, since there is none here on where I am at, but in my heart and mind I still wish for one thing for this year and that would be peace and love to all nation and human kind.

May everyone have a blessed and joyous HOLIDAYS!!! God Bless to everyone.

Ubehebe Crater

December 10-11, 2010 when baba and I decided to explore Death Valley again. Death Valley is a million acres, we already visited 3 times but still more places to explore. One place I really love to go is the Famous "Racetrack". Where the rocks moved on it's own. That's why their called racetrack, because their living a track while moving. Ubehebe crater is already close but we're out of gas. It's 60 miles to the track from the crater. Since the racetrack is not really visited of people because of the road condition, and the gas station is like 150 miles away. It's quite dangerous to go alone with one vehicle. Since we only have one can of gas, we thought maybe it's good idea not to go this time and try to bring extra can of gas on our next visit. Hoping we will go camping again when we come back to Las Vegas and that would be in January 2011.

We visited Scotty's Castle which is close to Ubehebe Crater. It's so magical. A very beautiful castle in the middle of the desert. When we got there I felt the place is so magical. It's so beautiful and it's so different. $22 tour for both of us is all worth it.  We also learned the story behind it. The castle they say made of gold is all imagination. The important is we had fun and we will come back again.

Hope you guys will see how magical and beautiful Death Valley!!!

Blemishes

I happened to have lots of blemishes in my face. I tried to used lots of commercial blemishes away product but it doesn't work. Spending more money on such things I see it useless. I have to try other things to keep me blemish free and keep my face smooth and young. As I was cleaning the house, I happened to bumped in with this old book and it's a recipe on how to lighten a skin and keep me blemish free. I tried it and it works much more than the commercial products I used before. It is called "LEMON CREAM SKIN LIGHTENER"
All the ingredients I need is in my kitchen, how convenient it is. All I have to do is mix everything.

2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 small potato peeled
1/2 small cucumber
1 Tbsp plain yogurt (no fillers/no flavor)
Mix in a blender and strain the excess water

Apply on face, neck, and chest. Cover it with hot towels and leave for 15-20 minutes. Rinse follow with moisturizer. May be use twice weekly.

This really works. Chemical free, cheap, and much more  effective. This will keep us beautiful, glowing and young woman.

Black Friday

Black Friday is a traditional day for everyone to go shopping. As early as 4am-10am, everyone is in the mall already waiting for the store to open and grab their cheap and discounted items. I went to the store around 11am since 4am is too early for me. When I got there the mall was still packed and most of the things was all over the place. It's kinda disaster but it was fun. I almost spend all my Christmas money :)

Maybe next year I will go earlier to get more EXTRA discounts. I love shopping!!!

Los Angeles

Los Angeles

 Redondo Beach
 My baba and me.
 Me playing with the sand.
 After a long walked.
 Down town Los Angeles
 Long Beach Marina and Downtown

Los Angeles is a BIG CITY. I had the chance before to see the city, we were just driving around. Traffic is everywhere but if you really really want to see the city you need to spend a week or two to see everything. This time I got the chance to explore the bay area. Last Valentines we spend a night in Laguna beach, we stayed in a hotel next ti the water. It's so beautiful but expensive. We did not got the chance to see more of the bay that time because we need to go but this time we really spend time to see the bay.

From Mangattan Beach, down  Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes Estate, Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach and Newport Beach. It was a great experienced. We stayed at Best Western Sunrise hotel across Redondo Beach. They had free breakfast, it was great. After breakfast, we decided to walked at redondo boardwalk. Ate at one of Joe's Crab restaurant. We had mussles and calamari. Then we drive to Long beach. We also went to see the Queen Mary at located at long beach marina. It's a spooky experienced, we were planning to have lunch there but it was spooky for both of us, so we decided to moved along. We had lunch at La Brissa, fancy Mexican restaurant. I also met my relative who is residing in long beach California, glad to see her and hoping to see her again.

The beach was great but sad to say the water is cold. I miss my home town DAVAO, PHILIPPINES. So miss the beach there, where I can swim for whole day and so miss the white sand and fresh fish. Someday, we will meet again my dear DAVAO. Seeing this great places, nothing can still replace my hometown in my heart. There's no place like home.

This is the beach I really wanted to see!!!
Located in Island Garden City of Samal, Philippines!!!

Death Valley

Death Valley is the largest American National Park outside of Alaska. It is the hottest, driest and lowest part of America. It is also the homeland of Timbisha Shoshone Tribe.
A superlative desert of streaming sand dunes, snow-capped mountains, multicolored rock layers, water-fluted canyons and 3 million acres of wilderness.
The geological history of Death Valley is complex: it involves crustal sinking, volcanic activity and erosion. Death Valley is a graben; that is, a rift valley formed by the sinking of the bedrock lying between parallel, uplifted, tilt-block mountain ranges. The mountains are the Amargosa in the east and the Panamints in the west.
Some part of the park display a continuum of mining activities, started 1860s and are still present this days.
There are lots of things to do in the park like hiking, camping, auto touring, backcountry roads, biking, horseback riding, scotty's castle and don't forget to check on the sunrise and sunset in death valley.
If you planning to visit the park don't forget to bring LOTS and LOTS of water, know the mine hazards, dangerous animals like rattle snakes, know the temperature, don't travel alone and know the emergency numbers to call if you need help. Please do follow the park's rules.

We will try to see the entire Death Valley someday, one in a time. There's more of the park to offer. Let's try to explore and enjoy the nature's beauty.
